Where does the working time go? The answer to this question is not as simple as it seems. Often a part of the staff experiences huge loads while others – successfully simulate the work, giving out in the end if not the minimum result, then much less than they could. SCREENish time tracking with screenshots reveals the information what the staff is engaged in working hours and evaluate the performance in different sections.

Time is the most important resource for business. The problem of time management is devoted to hundreds of books, and on the Internet, you can find a wide variety of recommendations for planning and prioritizing tasks. Nevertheless, we often catch ourselves on the fact that the deadline is approaching, and the work is still an endless region, and we complain about the lack of time. But is it really missing? In fact, of course, no, just around there are too many distractions.

The first attempts to introduce time tracking with screenshots systems and tasks performed by personnel were made even more than a century ago, in 1888, by Willard Bundy, the brother of the founder of the Bundy Manufacturing Company (which later changed its name to IBM). And since then the very idea of these instruments has not changed, only methods of accounting and analysis have been modified. In the wake of the arrival and departure journals, electronic sensors and tables came in, and a personal volume, in which it was necessary to record tasks on a daily basis – electronic journals or automatic systems, which from 2005-2006 were transferred to mobile platforms.

It can not be said that the old methods were useless, but, of course, there is no need to talk about any serious analysis of the data collected by hand. Efficiently keep a daily record of working hours is possible only through the introduction of special software, and if these tools are selected and used correctly, within a couple of months the company increases labor productivity. Automatic control of the presence in the workplace facilitates the timely implementation of payroll calculations (since there is no longer a weekly or monthly reconciliation with the time sheets), and more sophisticated tools give reason to exclude from the total amount of hours worked long-term personal telephone conversations, smoke breaks, etc., for some estimates – up to 5-10% of working time.

Daily accounting also has a positive impact on project management: it’s easier for managers to track tasks and related costs, adjust the budget as needed, and not at the end of the project, when the impossibility of its execution is already evident. Even companies that benefit from a fixed fee for the implementation of the project will benefit from the advantages – they can easily analyze which categories of work and which customers are preferable for them. It may seem that the hired employees of companies suffer most from the introduction of systems of this class, but this is not so – they get a clear answer to the question of how long they really worked, and at the same time the confidence that their work will be properly evaluated. There is one more problem that should be paid attention to: managers, especially those who are not familiar with the specifics of the work, tend to understate the necessary labor costs, and to convince them that the task takes more time than it seems to them. It is not easy, but it is possible, with the help of properly selected specialized time tracking with screenshots software.
