Time tracking employees is considered as micromanagement, but truth is it can be extremely helpful for both the employees and the employers, especially when outsourcing. Here is why:
Focusing and time management. When employees are tracking their own time they know just how much time is needed and how much of the available time are they using. Hence, time tracking helps them focus and appropriately divide their tasks in the given time window.
Timesheets and workflow. When the process is divided into numerous smaller tasks and projects, keeping track on each and every one of them in order to improve and organize the productivity and quality, can be extremely hard. Thus, a web-based timesheet management system will record all the time spent on tasks and rate the workflow level.
Costs and billing. Time tracking system does the accounting of hours much easier. When the time of the work process is tracked it will allow the better understanding of the workflow and, therefore, an opportunity to rearrange the company’s finances and reduce the cost to a minimum also increasing the income from clients.
Improved payroll system. Time recording – timesheet app can be extremely useful to best calculate the worked hours and not to underpay the employees. If outsourcing this options can save time from arguing whether the worker has been working for a particular amount of time, and the remote employee can freely track his/hers income.

When a business owner decides to use time tracking it is vital to explain to the employees what is the difference between that and micromanaging. Time tracking system can improve the time management of the work process and increase the quality output, thus it is used with the idea to help the company grow their business, not to undermine the personal life of the employees.
